
BARTON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating two suspect on drug allegations.
Shortly before midnight on Dec. 29, an officer with the Great Bend Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of 10th Street, Great Bend, according to a media release. Officers made contact with the driver, Gerald James, 46, and front passenger, Terra French, 40. Three children were observed in the back seats.

During the stop, K9 Rem from the Barton County Sheriff's Office was deployed, indicating to the odor of narcotics. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found during a search of the vehicle.
James was arrested on requested charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Interference, Child Endangerment, Driving while Suspended, and for multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. French was arrested on a requested charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Child Endangerment. Both were booked into the Barton County Jail
