COWLEY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Sunday in Cowley County.
According to the County County Sheriff, a blue 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 21-year-old Kale Kochick of Rose Hill, Kansas, was westbound on 82nd Road just west of 131st Road in rural Cowley County.
The pickup traveled off the road and collided with a creek embankment. Kochick was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three passengers were also occupying the vehicle at the time of the crash. The passengers were identified as Brodyn Ford, 20, of Andover, Kansas; Brennan Robledo, 22, of Rose Hill, Kansas; and Page Corbyn, 17, of Solomon, Kansas. Ford and Corbyn were transported by ambulance to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Robledo was evaluated at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
The Cowley County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
