
KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating the cause of a fire at an apartment in Kansas City.
Just before 1p.m. Monday, crews responded to a reported apartment fire in the 2800 block of Bellview on the west side of Kansas City, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
On arrival crews reported smoke from a two-story apartment. Crews quickly made an interior attack of the first floor apartment and discovered a kitchen fire in the rear of the structure.
The fire was quickly put out limiting the damage. A search of the entire structure was conducted and came back all clear. One dog was found and removed and safely placed in the care of a neighbor.
No injuries were reported at this incident. The occupants were not home at the time.
