Police working to find witnesses in fatal Kan. pedestrian crash

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal. pedestrian accident have identified the victim as Dennis L. Hower, 57, of Topeka.

Just after 6:30p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to an accident where a vehicle struck a man at the intersection of SW 19th St. and SW Gage Blvd in Topeka, according to Lt. Ron Ekis.

An ambulance transported Hower to a local hospital. He later died of his injuries.

The Topeka Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit is asking anyone who witnessed the accident to email them at [email protected], or by calling the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 785-368- 9400.
