Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident northeast of Salina Saturday morning.

Roger Mattison, 68, of Salina, was northbound on North Marymount Road in a black 2007 Chevrolet Colorado pickup when he failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection with Old Highway 40, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning. The pickup struck a westbound silver 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by Tina Kraemer, 32, of Salina. The accident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. Saturday.

Mattison complained of neck pain and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, Soldan said. Kraemer and a five-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries, but were not transported by EMS.

Both vehicles sustained extensive front-end damage, Soldan said.

Mattison was cited for failure to yield.
