CASS COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a high speed chase in the Kansas City area.
Just before 2:30a.m. Nov. 20, a sheriff's deputy attempted to make a vehicle stop on a northbound vehicle on Interstate 49 in rural Peculiar, Missouri, according to the Cass County Sheriff.
The vehicle had a defective taillight — and the driver began to accelerate as the deputy activated his emergency lights. As the pursuit passed North Cass Parkway, the Belton Missouri Police Department successfully deployed tire deflation devices.
The pursuit continued near Red Bridge Road in Kansas City, when the vehicle became inoperable. The driver complied with deputies and was arrested. Rodney Camp, 59, of Belton has been charged with Driving While Revoked/Suspended (E Felony) and Aggravated Fleeing a Stop (D Felony). He’s currently being held at the Cass County Jail with a $35,000 cash only bond.
