PAWNEE COUNTY — A Kansas woman arrested after a weekend chase involving a stolen vehicle made her first court appearance Wednesday, according to Pawnee County Attorney Doug McNett.

On May 25, Pawnee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Taylor Morgan-Marie Horstman, 23, of Larned, on requested charges of Felony Flee and Elude, Felony Interference of Law Enforcement,  Driving While Suspended, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Local law enforcement had been advised that a vehicle stolen in Hoisington, that day might be in the Larned area.

Once the vehicle was located a short car chase ensued in a residential area. The suspect, later identified as Horstman  abandoned the vehicle and was quickly apprehended through the deployment of the K-9. No one was injured.

After advising the defendant of her charges, the possible penalties and her constitutional rights, Magistrate Judge Julie Cowell scheduled a Preliminary Hearing for June 10.

She remains in custody with bond set at $5,000. She also faces possible charges on the stolen car in Barton County, according to McNett.
