
Salina Area Technical College has inducted 13 students into its chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.
To qualify for membership in the National Technical Honor Society, students must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be nominated by a faculty member and submit an essay about their community service activities and why they should be inducted.
The students inducted are:
• Ross Gasper, of Salina, Electrical Technology
• Grace Pfannenstiel, of Salina, Computer Aided Drafting
• Christopher Leger, of Salina, Computer Aided Drafting
• Peyton Harp, of Salina, Business Administrative Technology
• Fei Chen, of Salina, Business Administrative Technology
• Jessica Perez, of Salina, Business Administrative Technology
• Ryley Burkhart, of Salina, Welding Technology
• Zachery Ferris, of Chapman, Construction Technology
• Wesley Apostoloff, of Solomon, Construction Technology
• Sarah Sexton, of Salina, Medical Assistant
• Chantel Schuster, of Salina, Dental Assistant
• Shelby Horner, of Wichita, Dental Assistant
• Stephen Hughes, of Vilseck, Germany, Technical Studies
“Reading the nominations from the faculty, and the application essays from the students was especially inspiring this year,” said Jennifer Callis, vice president of student services. “These students were leaders in their classes, but when we had to close the campus, many took on additional responsibilities, such as regularly calling their fellow students to make sure they were doing OK.”
