CLOUD COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 8:30p.m. Wednesday in Cloud County.

The Kansas Highway patrol reported a 2010 Chevy Traverse driven by&nbsp; Leo G. Becker, 42,&nbsp; Salina,&nbsp;was southbound in the driving lane on U.S. 81 six miles south of Concordia.

The vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway identified as Rex O. Young, 59, Concordia. The SUV came to a stop on the west shoulder.

Young was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. Becker was not injured and properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
