Sheriff's K9 helps catch Kan. man after high-speed motorcycle chase

ROOKS COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect after a high-speed chase.

Just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a Rooks County Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle inside the City of Plainville for a traffic violation, according to social media report from the sheriff's office.

The motorcycle fled out of the City of Plainville and southbound on Highway 183 at speeds in excess of 110 MPH.

In the area of AA Road and Highway 183, the driver of the motorcycle later identified as 61-year-old  Leonard Ramsey lost control of his motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot.

Rooks County K9 Koda was deployed and apprehended him without incident. Ramsey is being held on requested charges that include Flee or attempt to elude; five or more moving violations, Interference with LEO; obstruct/resist/oppose felony warrant service or execution, Reckless driving; 1st conviction, Driving while a habitual violator; 1st conviction,  Vehicle liability insurance; Liability coverage required: Defective motorcycle tail lamp, Unsafe turning or stopping; Failure to give proper,  Driving on left side of roadway prohibited,  Failure to yield at stop or yield sign, Maximum speed limits, Improper turn or approach, Driving on right side of roadway required
