The tobacco cessation classes offered by the Tammy Walker Cancer Center beginning later this month will be offered via phone or computer, rather than in person.

According to information from TWCC, the classes scheduled to begin on March 31 will now be available for participants to attend on their phone or computer via Zoom. There will be no class held at Tammy Walker Cancer Center.

Participants who are interested in the tobacco cessation classes can call or email Daniel Craig, TWCC cancer outreach coordinator, to receive the Zoom connection information and the group materials via email that they will need to participate in the class. Craig can be reached at [email protected] or 785-452-4848.

Tobacco Cessation Classes

Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
March 31-June 2 (no sessions May 12 and May 26)

According to Craig, another great tobacco cessation program is the Kansas Tobacco Quitline (1-800-QUIT-NOW) which provides free phone counseling to any Kansan ready to quit tobacco. The Kansas Tobacco Quitline provides help setting a quit date, tips to change your habits related to smoking or chewing, and ways to cope with cravings and withdrawal.
