UPDATE: This story has been updated to correct the spelling of the last name of the Trow family that was misspelled in the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log report.
SALINE COUNTY —Three people were injured in an accident just after noon Sunday in Saline County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Mercury Mariner driven by David A. Malay, 67, Lincoln, NE., was westbound on Interstate 70 one mile west of the Interstate 135 interchange.
The Mercury rear-ended a 2018 Dodge Journey driven by Ashley Jo Trow, 30, Salina, who was making an illegal u-turn through the median.
EMS transported Jaleigh Trow, 12, Adiliese Trow, 4, and Zuhrya Trow, 8, all of Salina to the hospital in Salina for treatment of minor injuries.
Malay and Ashley Jo Throw were not injured. All five were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according o the KHP.
