WICHITA -- Wichita State University has announced that it will suspend classes beginnning Monday to provide the campus community the opportunity to prepare for online instruction in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
According to information on the university's website, all in-person classes will be temporarily moved to an online and/or remote format beginning the week of March 30, the week following the university's spring break.
All residence halls will remain open and continue normal operations, however "students who are able to move to another location are encouraged to do so," the website states.
Additionally, effective Monday, all athletic events — either sponsored by WSU or held on WSU property — will be cancelled, however, events initially scheduled for after April 13 will be reevaluated, the WSU website noted.
Effective today (March 12, all Wichita State athletic events are suspended indefinitely, per the American Athletic Conference, according to the university's website.
