Arraignment to begin for man in Kan. woman's strangulation death

HUTCHINSON — Arraignment is set for Monday for a man in the August 2019 murder of a Hutchinson woman.

Isaac Ervin, 24, Hutchinson, also faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated intimidation of a witness and unlawful sexual relations. The additional charges came during Ervin’s preliminary hearing Thursday, according to the Reno County Attorney's office.

Ervin is charged with the beating and strangulation death of 29-year-old Lora Beth Stratton.

Stratton was found in an alley in the 700 block of West 7th Avenue Aug. 24 unconscious. She was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and then to Wichita where she died a few days later.

Arraignment is set for 9 a.m. in front of Judge Tim Chambers.
