FHSU track and field completes regular season

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Fort Hays State track and field team collected multiple strong finishes at the Nebraska Tune-Up Friday inside the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

On the women's side, Lindsay Shupe finished second in the 400m dash with a time of 58.28 while placing sixth overall and third amongst DII athletes in the 200m run with a time of 25.46.

Emily Salmans was just .12 shy of her second program record in as many weeks, taking third in the 600m run with a time of 1:36.28.

Peri Lange was the top DII finisher in the 60m hurdles, finishing third overall with a time of 8.94.

Lyric Holman ran the 60m dash in 7.85, good for sixth place overall and first among DII competitors.

Mattie Rossi and Haley George both cleared the 5-1.75 bar in the high jump, finishing sixth and seventh via a judges decision.

Freshman Taylor Linn cleared the 11-2.5 bar in the pole vault, the top mark for a Tiger this season.

On the men's side, Ryan Stanley once again cleared the provisional mark in the pole vault, placing fifth after soaring over the 16-6.00 bar on his first attempt. He was the top Division II finisher, finishing behind three DI vaulters and one unattached athlete.

Trever Medina placed second in the 600m run with a time of 1:21.77, followed closely by Aaron Mangan's time of 1:22.00. Ethan Lang ran the 400m dash in 50.07, finishing eighth.

The Tigers will next travel to Pittsburg, Kan. for the 2020 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend, (Feb. 28-Mar. 1).
