MANHATTAN – For the third time in program history and the first time since the 2001-02 season, Kansas State women’s basketball has swept the Big 12 Conference weekly awards as Peyton Williams garnered the Player of the Week nod and Ayoka Lee collected her record-setting 10th Freshman of the Week honor.

The last K-State duo to earn Big 12 Player and Freshman/Newcomer of the Week honors in the same week was Nicole Ohlde and Kendra Wecker on Jan. 7, 2002. Prior to that, Nicky Ramage and Olga Firsova earned the citations in the same week on Nov. 23, 1998.

With her 10th Big 12 Freshman of the Week award, Lee surpasses the previous record of nine held by Courtney Paris of Oklahoma in the 2005-06 season.

Williams earned her second career Big 12 Player of the Week honor by setting new school standards in a pair of categories and registered a new career-high for points while helping the Wildcats rally to two road wins last week. Williams averaged 22.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals. She was also 14-of-17 from the foul line.

At West Virginia, Williams tallied 14 points which included 10 points in the fourth quarter in which K-State rallied from an 18-point deficit in the final seven minutes of the fourth quarter. She also hauled in eight rebounds and dished out four assists.

With her eight rebounds at West Virginia, Williams became the fifth player in program history with 900 or more career rebounds.

At Oklahoma, Williams came one rebound short of the first 30-point, 20-rebound double-double in school history. Williams finished with her 12th double-double of the season on a career-high 31 points on 9-of-15 shooting and included a career-high 12-of-15 effort from the free throw line including the clinching free throws in overtime. She also hauled in 19 rebounds, tied her career-high with six assists and pocketed a personal season-high five steals.

With her 19 rebounds, Williams tied the school record for career games with 15 or more rebounds with seven and tied the school record for double-doubles with 10 or more points and 15 or more rebounds with seven. Her 19 rebounds also moved her past Shalee Lehning for fourth in school history for career rebounds with 919.

For the season, Williams is averaging a double-double with 16.0 points and 11.8 rebounds with a .473 field goal percentage and a .755 free throw percentage. She is one of two players, Lee is the other, in league play to average a double-double with 16.9 points and 11.5 rebounds.

Lee set a pair of school records during the week and averaged 19.5 points on a .607 field goal percentage. She also averaged 14.5 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 2.5 steals.

At West Virginia, the Byron, Minn., product set the school record for double-doubles and blocked shots in a freshman season with 15 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks and two steals. Lee aided K-State's 24-5 rally from an 18-point fourth quarter deficit for the win by completing a three-point play with 22 seconds remaining to give the Wildcats a one-point lead.

At Oklahoma, Lee registered her 14th double-double of the season by tying her career-high with 24 points on a career-best 11-of-17 effort from the field. She also pulled in 13 rebounds, pocketed three steals and blocked four shots.

With her efforts last week, Lee secured the school records for double-doubles (14) and blocked shots (71) in a freshman season. She is just the second freshman in school history with 250 or more rebounds in a debut season.
