16-year-old Kansas boy dies after crash with a semi

JEFFERSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Sunday in Jefferson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chrysler Sebring driven by Kyler Michael Postma, 16, Ozawkie, was southbound at 9746 Kansas 4 Highway in Meriden.

The  Chrysler traveled into oncoming traffic and struck a northbound 2016 Freightliner semi driven by Michael Keith Stanwix, 39, Grantville.

Postma was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics.

The KHP did not report where Stanwix was transported for treatment. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
