SHAWNEE COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 1:30a.m. Friday in Shawnee County.
A Pontiac Grand Am driven by Hannah L. Blick, 18, Valley Falls, was eastbound in the 1600 Block of NE 46th Road, according to Shawnee County Sheriff's Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.
Pontiac crossed the center line and struck a Chevy Traverse driven by Bradyn J. Rottler, 21, of Topeka, head-on.
Fire crews extricated Blick from the Pontiac and American Medical Response transported her to a Topeka hospital. She was pronounced dead by medical staff at the hospital, according to Shawnee County Sheriff's Sergeant Scott Wanamaker.
A private vehicle transported Rottler to a Topeka hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Blick was not wearing a seat belt, according to Stallbaumer.
The accident remains under investigation.

Both vehicles had only one occupant. Fire crews extricated one driver from a vehicle and American Medical Response transported the driver to a Topeka hospital. That driver was pronounced dead by medical staff at the hospital, according to Wanamaker.
