
SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged aggravated assault and have a suspect in custody.
Just before 7:30 p.m. February 7, police responded to a domestic violence disturbance at a residence in the 1400 block of N. Hillside in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.
A 22-year-old woman at the residence reported being strangled with an object by a suspect identified as 38-year-old Anthony Peete to the point of unconsciousness.
Through the investigation, officers found the victim’s injuries to be consistent with her being strangled.
Police arrested Peete on the scene and EMS transported the woman to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to Davidson.
Additionally, Peete has previously been arrested and convicted on charges that include aggravated assault, forgery, and identity theft, according to Davidson.
