Kansas woman dies after car flips upside down into creek

SHAWNEE COUNTY — One person died in an accident just after 2p.m. Tuesday in Shawnee County.

The Kansa Highway Patrol reported a 2018 BMW X 2 Series driven by Susan E.  Lenoir, 76, Topeka, was northbound on U.S. 75 one half mile south of 35th Street in Topeka.

The car left the roadway to the right, struck a road sign and drove into Soldier's Creek. Vehicle flipped upside down in Soldier's Creek and was submerged in water.

 Lenoir was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Coroners office in Topeka. She was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
