SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after an arrest.

Just after 4:30p.m. Thursday, a deputy sheriff observed an individual acting suspiciously after pulling into a driveway in the 5100 block of NW Arroyo Drive, according to Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer.

The deputy, who is familiar with the owner of the residence, made contact with the individual to make sure he belonged.  After speaking with the individual, it was confirmed that he did not belong at the house.

After investigating, it was determined that Jerry L. Lewis, 35, of Topeka, was driving a stolen Ford F-250 out of the city of Eudora, according to Stallbaumer.

His driver’s license was revoked and drugs were located in the stolen vehicle.

Deputies transported Lewis to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections where he was booked on requested charges that include Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Stolen Property, Driving While Revoked and Tag Not Assigned.  Lewis has two previous convictions for theft, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
