SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a drug bust.

December 10, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit and SWAT Team assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with the service of a narcotic search warrant in the 1200 block of SW Medford in Topeka, according to Sgt. Todd Staulbaumer.

Officers seized methamphetamine, marijuana and firearms from the residence. They also  Alex Hidalgo,32, of Topeka on requested charges of narcotic distribution.

Three juveniles, including a seven month old and 2 four-year olds, were placed into police protective custody pending a hearing due to being in the environment where narcotics were located and used.
