GREENWOOD COUNTY—Crews battled numerous grass fires across Kansas amid windy, dry conditions on Wednesday.

According to Greenwood County Emergency management, the fire north of Eureka in western Greenwood County burned an estimated 2,700 acres. Six Greenwood County fire divisions responded along with mutual aid from seven Butler County fire divisions.

The apparent cause was power lines. No structures were lost and there were no injuries reported.

The fire in Saline County burned approximately 100 acres.

Winds were gusting between 30 and 40 mph Wednesday afternoon.
