TOPEKA —On Thursday afternoon, Governor Laura Kelly attended the first Kwanzaa celebration in the Kansas Statehouse.
She thanked the congregation of historic St. Mark's African Methodist Episcopal Church for organizing this wonderful event to honor African heritage and culture.
Kwanzaa is a week-long annual celebration observed December 26 through January 1.
