MANHATTAN – K-State redshirt freshman center Ayoka Lee continues to collect weekly honors from the Big 12, as she garnered her third straight Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor.
Lee is the first K-State player to earn three straight conference Freshman of the Week honors and is the fifth player to earn three or more Freshman of the Week honors from the league in a season. She is the first player in the league to earn three consecutive Freshman of the Week honors since Chrislyn Carr of Texas Tech garnered three straight in the 2018-19 season.
For the week, Lee averaged 17.5 points on 65.4 percent shooting and 11.0 rebounds in 25.5 minutes, while also blocking 3.5 shots.
To begin her week, the product of Byron, Minnesota, tallied 20 points on 10-of-10 shooting while adding eight rebounds and six blocked shots in 22 minutes. Lee was the ninth player in the history of the Big 12 to finish a game perfect from the field with 10 or more field goal attempts.
Lee became the second player in school history, with a minimum of 10 field goals attempted, to finish a game perfect from the field and tied the school record for single-game field goal percentage with Priscilla Gary on December 31, 1982. Lee was the first player in the nation this season to finish a game perfect from the field, with an NCAA minimum of 10 field goals made.
At Arkansas, Lee was the center of attention yet finished with her fourth double-double this season as she tallied 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting, a career-high 14 rebounds and one block.
Lee leads all Big 12 freshmen this season in double-doubles (4, rebounds per game (10.8) and blocks (28) and blocks per game (3.5). Lee also paces K-State in scoring (15.1 ppg) and field goal percentage (.617).
K-State will have a week to prepare for its next game.
