KWU beats Baker, advances to quarterfinal tilt with Lindsey Wilson

Fresh off their 42-7 win over Baker in the FCS Opening Round, the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes have drawn Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in the Quarterfinal round.


The Coyotes will host the Blue Raiders on Nov. 30 at noon on Bissell Field at the Graves Family Sports Complex.


The third-ranked Coyotes routed No. 15 Baker 42-7 in Saturday's First Round match-up behind a stellar performance from quarterback Johnny Feauto (SR/Boulder, Colo., who was named as the Offensive Player of the Game after throwing for 327 yards and five touchdowns and adding 62 yards on the ground. KWU's defense was also outstanding, holding Baker well below its season totals in total offense, rushing and points.


Lindsey Wilson (11-0) had to rally from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat St. Francis (Ind.) in its First Round matchup. The Blue Raiders scored twice in the final three minutes of the game to rally for the win. Jaylen Boyd had 115 yards rushing and two scores for the Lindsey Wilson and quarterback Cameron Dukes was 20-of-35 passing for 302 yards.


Saturday's match-up will be the first all-time meeting between the two institutions in football.
