
RILEY COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a registered violent offender for new alleged crimes.
Just before 9:30p.m. Tuesday, police arrested 41-year-old Lamarques Channel of Topeka on requested charges of criminal sodomy and rape, according to the Riley County Police Department activity Department. The arrest stems from the investigation of an incident that occurred on October 25, 2019. Channel is being held on a total bond of $150,000.
Channel has previous convictions for reckless involuntary manslaughter and drug crimes, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
He has been listed as a registered offender since 2015, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
