JACKSON COUNTY, Kan —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas woman on drug allegations.
Just before 4:30p.m. May 14, a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy was investigating a traffic stop near 158th Road on U.S. Highway 75, when a vehicle pulled up behind the traffic stop, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
The deputy went to see what the occupants needed. The encounter led to the discovery of alleged illegal drug contraband in the possession of the passenger of the vehicle identified as 72-year-old Leandara Gutierrez, of Lawrence.
The deputy arrested and booked her into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and drug paraphernalia, according to Morse.
