
JOHNSON COUNTY —A former school paraprofessional who admitted having a sexual relationship with a student was sentenced last week.
Judge Jacquelyn Rokusek sentenced 28-year-old Kassidy Alexander of De Soto to 34 months in prison for unlawful sexual relations. Alexander was later placed on probation for 36 months, according to court documents filed Thursday. She must also register as a sex offender, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.
In August, Alexander was charged with unlawful sexual relations, according to online jail records in Johnson County. She is a former USD 232 Desoto school district employee at Lexington Trails Middle School.
On September 11, Alexander pleaded guilty to a single count of unlawful sexual relations with a student, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office. Two other counts of unlawful sexual relations were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
The crime involved events occurring from July 25, 2022, to March 2024, involving someone 16 years or older, a student in the school, according to court documents.
