
OSAGE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a traffic stop.
Just before 10p.m. Tuesday, a sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 35 near the Williamsburg/Pomona exit for a traffic violation, according to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells
During the stop, deputies located narcotics.
The driver of the vehicle, Nathan W. Rodriguez, 30, of Emporia, was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, Criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, Criminal use of a weapon, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of marijuana and No drug tax stamp.
He has three previous drug convictions, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
