KANSAS CITY—A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Kansas City.
Just after 4:30p.m. Wednesday, police responded to East 27th Street near Brighton after a citizen reported an individual acting erratically and pointing a handgun indiscriminately at other people, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol
When officers arrived on the scene they encountered the suspect in the middle of the street who was armed with a handgun. Officers told the suspect to drop the weapon and he refused to do so. He was subsequently shot by one of the officers.
Life saving measures were attempted by the officers, however the suspect was fatally wounded. No officers were injured during the incident. This investigation is ongoing by the MSHP Division of Drug & Crime Control. Police have not released the name of the man who died or additional details.
