KANSAS CITY—Law enforcement investigating another deadly shooting in Kansas City have identified the victim as 34-year-old Waleed M. Shaban, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
Just before 1p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the the 300 block of E. Linwood Boulevard in Kansas City, according to Gonzalez.
When officers responded to the area, several people pointed in the direction of a nearby business advising someone had been shot.
First responders found Shaban who was unresponsive in a business parking lot suffering from apparent gunshot trauma.
EMS responded shortly after and declared the him deceased at the scene.A person of interest was immediately located and taken into custody for further questioning.
Preliminary details indicate that two individuals were engaged in an argument that escalated into gunfire. The relationship between the victim and suspect is actively being investigated, as well as any connection to the business. Detectives are not currently looking for any additional persons of interest, according to Gonzalez.
