KANSAS CITY, Kan. —A Kansas man is going to prison for a deadly shooting in April of 2020.

A Jackson County judge sentenced 37-year-old Ivan D. Mock of Kansas City, Kansas to 40 years in prison for the murder of Daniel Washington.  Police found Washington with a fatal gunshot wound in a vehicle near 39th and Main, according to court records. Witnesses identified Mock as the shooter.

The judge imposed a 30-year sentence for Mock's second-degree murder conviction and an additional ten years for his conviction of armed criminal action, with the sentences to run consecutively.

Mock was convicted during a trial in January.
