Kansas man arrested for fatal hit-and-run that killed bicyclist

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Police investigating a fatal Kansas hit and run have arrested a 23-year-old Christopher Johnson Wichita man on felony allegations, according to Sedgwick County booking records. He remains in custody.

Just after 2a.m. Sunday, police responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at 2400 N. Hoover in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.

First responders found 43-year-old Thomas Doyle of Wichita who was riding the bike unresponsive. Thomas was later pronounced deceased at the scene by Sedgwick County EMS.

Investigators determined Doyle was northbound on Hoover when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Johnsaon that then continued driving north.

The case facts will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney for formal charging consideration.
