Ten units damaged in fire at Kansas City apartment complex

KANSAS CITY —Investigators are working to determine the cause of a late-night apartment in Kansas City.

Just after 9p.m. Sunday, crews responded to a reported apartment fire in the 11500 block of Holmes, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

Crews reported smoke and fire showing from a two-story apartment on arrival. Searches of the structure came back all clear. One occupant was transported for evaluation for non-fire related issues.

One firefighter was treated on scene for heat related issues. Eight to ten units were damaged. Red Cross has been ordered along with dangerous buildings.
