Suspect in deadly Kan. stabbing drove himself to the hospital

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (AP) — Police have arrested a man in connection with an early-morning stabbing incident in Junction City that left one woman dead and one man injured.

Authorities responded to a call about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and discovered a man suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to Geary Community Hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition. Police later learned that 30-year-old Stacy Subotich of Fort Riley had been transported to Irwin Army Hospital, where she died from stab wounds.

The suspect 21-year-old Jalen Thomas of Junction City drove himself to Geary Community Hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening stab wound. He was arrested on suspicion of second degree murder, aggravated battery, domestic battery and aggravated assault.
