RENO COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a 28-year-old Kansas man with a history of crime on new charges.

Just before 9p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the Jimmy Johns at 900 East 30th Suite B in Hutchinson, according to a media release.

Employees reported that a man who attempted to conceal his identity, entered the store and demanded cash from the register. The suspect implied that he was armed but no weapon was displayed. He obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled.

Police quickly arrested of 28-year-old William R. Webster who has previous felony convictions for aggravated robbery and burglary, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

During the investigation, police were able to link Webster to a robbery at the 1330 East 30th Kwik Shop back on Jan. 16. The suspect in that case also tried to hide who he was and said he was armed but never showed a weapon.

Webster is being held on requested charges of robbery and aggravated assault; placing subject in fear while disguised for both incidents. In December, Webster moved from the Lansing Correctional Facility to in-state post release in Reno County.
