Kansas drug dealer caught with over 1,600 fentanyl pills

JOHNSON COUNTY —A Kansas man is going to prison for a drug-deal death in Kansas.

Last week, Judge Thomas J. Ryan sentenced 23-year-old Diego Alessandro Gomez of Kansas City, Kansas, to 16-years in prison for two counts of distributing fentanyl, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office.

During the investigation, Gomez-Rodriguez possessed over 1600 fentanyl pills, according to the district attorney's office.

"We will continue to work hard with our law enforcement partners to hold accountable these individuals who are dealing death in our community,” according to District Attorney Steve Howe.
