FORD COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged threat at a southwest Kansas school.
On Wednesday, an upset parent made a call to Sunnyside Elementary, 511, Sunnyside Avenue in Dodge City, and threatened to blow up the school, according to a media release from police.
The parent arrived at the school shortly after the call to pick up her children and police were notified. When officers arrived, they contacted a 31-year old woman from Dodge City in the building entryway.
Due to security measures at the school, she only entered the entry doors and not the locked interior doors.
Officers arrested her immediately without incident. They found no explosive materials.
She was booked into the Ford County Jail on a requested felony charge of criminal threat and the case will be forwarded to the Ford County Attorney's office. Police did not release her name.
