WASHINGTON –One person died in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Wednesday in Washington County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Toyota Highlander driven by Marvin D Ost, 75, Menifee, California, was eastbound on U.S. 36 approximately one mile west of Concord Road. The SUV crossed left of center and collided with a 2003 Peterbilt semi driven by Brian A. Lueking, 40, Superior, Pennsylvania. After impact the semi traveled off the road to the right and overturned.
Ost was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Ward Funeral Home. EMS transported Lueking to the Republic County Hospital. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
