SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating another deadly shooting in Wichita have identified the victim as 19-year-old Anthony Lear of Wichita, according to a media release.
Just before 11:30a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of George Washington Court in Wichita, according to Captain Aaron Moses. First responders found Lear with a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation indicates a disturbance occurred between individuals known to one another in the street before shots were fired. Those involved in the incident, along with witnesses, remained at the scene and were later interviewed detectives.
Investigators continue working to establish what led to the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office for review.
Police have not reported an arrest.
