KANSAS CITY —Police investigating a weekend homicide in Kansas City, Missouri have identified the victim as 16-year-old Richard Minor, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.
Just after 3:30a.m. Sunday, patrol officers responded to an ambulance in route call in the 4100 block of Jackson Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
As officers arrived they were directed to the driveway of a residence on Jackson. There they located Minor suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began rendering aid and KCFD medics responded. Minor was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. A short time later Minor was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to DiMartino.
This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody at this point. Detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the incident.
