KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man is facing charges in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred last week.

Theron Savage, 22, faces 2nd Degree Murder, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, and 1st Degree Assault.

According to court records, Kansas City police arrived at a residence on the 600 block of East Minor Drive on a reported disturbance. As officers moved toward the front door of the residence, the defendant opened the door holding a sharp-edged object and then shut the door on the officers. When the defendant opened the door again, officers deployed a less lethal bean bag round at the defendant, who then fled the scene from the back balcony.

Officers found two female victims inside the residence, one suffering from a stab wound and the other with a laceration to her chest, who died at an area hospital. The defendant was later located and taken into custody.

It’s reported that Savage is the boyfriend of the deceased victim.
