KANSAS CITY —There were no injuries after law enforcement successfully retrieved a WW2 area grenade from a vehicle in downtown Blue Springs.
Authorities blocked off Main Street from 15th Street east to the railroad tracks and 14th Street from Smith to Vesper in downtown Blue Springs while the Lees Summit Police bomb squad responded and then confirmed the device was a real WW2 era grenade.
On Friday, Lee's Summit Police did not release details on whether the grenade was still a live explosive.
