Police: Kan. felon with over a dozen convictions is back in jail

ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a Kansas felon on multiple allegations after an arrest.

Just after 8a.m. on Thursday police responded to an apartment complex in the 1200 block North 5th Street in Atchison to investigate a suspicious person, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

Officers located Maurice Burnett who was taken into custody on requested charges of disorderly conduct and a Kansas Department of Corrections detain order for parole violation. He was subsequently found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
