KANSAS CITY —One person died in an accident just before 11p.m. Tuesday in Kansas City.
A pedestrian was crossing 63rd Street from north to south at Swope Parkway, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino. The pedestrian was in the middle of the roadway and was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured in the crash.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV stopped immediately, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. This is fatality #89 compared to #98 at this time last year, according to DiMartino.
Police have not released the name of the victim.
