Arson investigation leads to pair of Kan. drug arrests

BARTON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects as part of an arson investigation.

On Monday, police were conducting surveillance in the 1500 block of 11th Street in Great Bend regarding the arson investigation. They conducted a traffic stop on a 2003 maroon Honda passenger car near the intersection of 11th and Kansas and made contact with the driver, 54-year-old Sean Flagg.

Officers arrested Flagg on requrested charges of an arrest warrant for probation violation, driving while suspended, no proof of insurance, illegal license plates, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp.

Flagg was transported to the Barton County Detention Center and booked in lieu of bond.

During the course of this investigation, detectives and officers obtained an executed a search warrant at 1102 Hubbard Street in Great Bend. During a search of the residence residence, officers seized items of illegal drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Candace Jones, age 51, was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp. Jones was transported to the Barton County Detention Center and booked in lieu of bond.
