Kansas man accused of woman's Thanksgiving Day murder

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating a woman's murder have made an arrest.

On Thanksgiving Day November 28, 2024, deputies in Shawnee County began an investigation into the death of 50-year-old Monica B. McKay of Tecumseh, Kansas, after she was found deceased at her home, according to Shawnee County Sheriff Brian Hill.

On February 11, the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division arrested 53-year-old Brian P. McKay of Tecumseh in connection with her death. He is being held on requested charges of stalking, violation of a protection order, aggravated burglary and murder in the first-degree. The sheriff's office would not release details on the relationship between the suspect and victim.
