
BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations.
Just before 8a.m. March 9, police were alerted to a burglary in progress in the 1100 block of Hubbard Street in Great Bend, according to a media release.
The reporting party advised that a woman that he did not know had entered his residence and taken several items, including a firearm. Officers began to search for the suspect with the description provided by the reporting party.
A short time later, an officer located the suspect in the 1100 block of Holland Street in the alley way. Officers gave several commands to the suspect, who failed to comply. K9 Niko was deployed to subdue the suspect.
After a successful apprehension, officers located the stolen firearm and several other stolen items. Officers arrested 41-year-old Crystal Caruthers on requested charges of Aggravated Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Felony Interference with Law Enforcement. Caruthers was treated for her minor injuries by the Great Bend Fire Department Emergency Medical Services.
