Suspect in murder of Kansas woman jailed for pot possession

SHAWNEE COUNTY — A suspect wanted in connect with a homicide in Topeka is jailed in Johnson County.

According to online jail records 52-year-old Jeffrey D. Arnold, 52, of Topeka, who also commonly goes by the nickname, “Cheese,” was booked into the Johnson County jail Friday on requested charges of marijuana possession, fleeing or eluding a police officer, driving while suspended and a defective headlamp.

On March 26, police responded to a shooting at a home in the  1500 Block of SE Quincy in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks

Police found 38-year-old Deaundreya D. Caraway suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police asked the public for help to locate Arnold. Topeka authorities have not reported possible charges against him in connection with the homicide.
